Recogizing the Service

of our Veterans

Honoring our Departed

We do more than provide a "home away from home" for our veterans.  Our heroes know that they can not only visit us for like-minded cmpanionship, but for guidance and support.  We offer special events for veterans who are being honored, and we hold special services for those who have departed.

Veterans Housing Facility

A not-for-profit transitional housing facility for homeless veterans. The center has 150 beds and there is an emphasis on providing counseling for issues like drug-and-alcohol addiction as well as post-traumatic stress disorder. It opened in May and currently has about 70 vets.

Operation Freedom Paws

Operation Freedom Paws empowers veterans and others with disabilities to restore their own independence

Operation Freedom Paws trains veterans and others with disabilities to train their own service dogs. We leverage the ability of the canine-human relationship to help our clients regain their sense of purpose, worth and value to society and their community.

What is the 40 & 8

The Forty & Eight is committed to charitable and patriotic aims.  Our purpose is to uphold and defend the United States Constitution, to promote the well being of veterans and their widows and orphans, and to actively participate in selected charitable endeavors, which include programs that promote child welfare and nurse's training.

Mesothelioma Center

As a result of the military's past reliance on asbestos, Veterans account for an estimated 30 percent of all mesothelioma patients. The Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com provides vital services and free resources for patients and families affected by mesothelioma. The Center provides free information, resources and personal assistance to those who have been affected by mesothelioma and asbestos exposure and works with these individuals and their families to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups. Veterans qualify for special financial benefits from the Veterans Administration to receive this care.
